Memory Care

Alzheimer's & Dementia Care at Kensington Place

Kensington Place is a memory care community coming to Redwood City this year. Here, we will provide comprehensive care and support to residents who are faced with the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia.

Our founders are longtime, passionate leaders in senior living. They are experts in the full spectrum of care and lifestyle, but have designed Kensington Place to exclusively accommodate residents with memory loss.

An Intensely Personal
      Promise with Two Uniquely
      Different Levels of Care

Our philosophy of care and service is simple, powerful and personal. We promise to love and care for your family as we do our own. We are creating a community where we would want our own parents to live. Only the best for them, and only the best for you.

As professionals, we understand the general patterns of Alzheimer’s and dementia. As sons, daughters, brothers and sisters, we know how difficult it is to watch a loved one’s memory fade. We will help the whole family find ways to enjoy the beauty of special times, even if only moments. We will honor the past, cherish the present and look toward making times that lie ahead more manageable and ultimately, peaceful.

We believe the degree of memory loss is an important consideration when providing

care. As a result, we feature two unique "neighborhoods” that address needs specific to different stages of disease progression. Connections is for residents in the early to middle stages of memory loss. Haven is for residents in the middle to late stages. Our multifaceted programs are geared to support not only residents but also their families.

Residents in the early to middle stages of memory loss are able to independently participate in activities that give purpose to each day. Our secured Connections neighborhood will feature personalized programs that create routine and structure to help these residents feel safe and successful. Daily activities will offer opportunities to actively engage the mind, move the body and uplift the spirit.

Residents in the middle to late stages of dementia need a higher level of clinical care and assistance to increase comfort and reduce agitation. Our secured Haven neighborhood will provide freedom for residents to move about safely. Specially designed memory stations will help them tap into and find joy in meaningful moments from their past.

When a loved one lives at Kensington Place, we encourage family and friends to visit as often as possible and to lean on us for support whenever needed. We know that by sharing care-giving responsibility, families are freer to enjoy the pleasure of time spent together. Also, because we are equipped to handle health care needs, families get the added benefit of peace of mind and confidence that their loved one is in capable, professional hands.
